Eleven months later, after visiting six different sites, Calvert MMA is pleased to announce we are operational at our new Sunderland, MD location as of April 2010. The Calvert MMA Academy deeply thanks everyone who helped make this possible from our students, friends, and the Calvert Government Officials who gave us advice along the way. I especially wish to thank team member Aaron Smiley, who went above and beyond to get us operational in a timely manner and he also provided us with the coolest custom Muay Thai heavy bag stands in the world! Now Calvert MMA not only offers the best possible instruction, but also the best training facility in Calvert.
As of June 2010, our build out is around 95% complete. We still have a few more things to complete our buildout and we hope to be finished by this summer. When completed, we will offer over 1,700 square feet of mat space, MMA cage panels (we have the fencing used in the Octagon), 12 heavy bags, a speed bag, grappling dummies, and more.
